Add fractions with the same denominator

5/8
💡 What it's asking: When fractions have the same bottom number (denominator), you add only the top numbers.
- Both fractions are in eighths.
- Add the tops: 3 + 2 = 5.
- Keep the bottom: 5/8.
✅ 3/8 is a bit under a half and 2/8 is a quarter; 5/8 is a bit more than a half. Sensible.

Complete an equivalent fraction

8 (6/9 = 8/12, per the Tamil version)
💡 What it's asking: Equivalent fractions have the same value. Simplify first, then multiply top and bottom by the same number to reach 12 at the bottom. (The English paper prints 6/7, a misprint; the Tamil paper's 6/9 is used.)
- Simplify: 6/9 = 2/3.
- 3 × 4 = 12, so multiply the top by 4 too: 2 × 4 = 8.
- So 6/9 = 8/12; the missing number is 8.
✅ 8/12 simplifies to 2/3, and so does 6/9.
