Angle in a triangle using parallel lines

Paper I Part A Q2: Angle in a triangle using parallel lines

Answer: x = 40

💡 What it's asking: Use angles on a straight line, then the parallel lines (alternate angles), then the angle sum of triangle ABC.

  1. 1On the straight line AD: EBA = 180 − 120 = 60°.
  2. 2AC ∥ EB with AB crossing them, so CAB = ABE = 60° (alternate angles, the 'Z' shape).
  3. 3In triangle ABC: x = 180 − 60 − 80 = 40°.

✅ 60 + 80 + 40 = 180. ✓

  3. ABC ත්‍රිකෝණයේ: x = 180 − 60 − 80 = 40°.
